Close Name Match

The similar name match will report anyone whose name "sounds like" the name you have requested. John and Jon or Smith and Schmidt would be close enough to match. Bill and William or Ron and Ronald would not be considered close enough since these names are spelled and sound significantly different. The search is not case sensitive.
 
If you enter only an initial for the first or middle name, the system will match anyone who has the same initial or whose name begins with the same initial.
 
Individuals who have not provided a middle name will match any middle name or initial specified. Individuals who have provided only a middle initial will match if you specify the same initial or a name that begins with that initial.
